The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected within the town of Rhodes on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos somewhere in the years 292 and 280 BC. It marked as monumental Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. being destructed, the Colossus of Rhodes was over thirty meters (107 ft) tall, which made it one of the highest statues of the old world.
